Manufactured in the U.K, virtually nothing is known about these mando-basses, other than what comes from the 1927 catalogue:
“The Abbott basses are constructed on scientific principles with graduated vaulted belly and back (similar to an orthodox bass). Finest air-dryed woods only are used – they are highly finished by cellulose process.”

Clearly the design is reminiscent of the Gibson Style J with a more oval shaped sound-hole and the lack of an end pin.
